PFP - Speed Sculpt 06

Speed sculpt number 6. A rework of the previous one, still using the planes of the face method. Im starting to feel more comfortable with this way of sculpting and it has improved my proportions of the face. Still need to work on likeness of the reference. Reference is still Jason Mamoa, took about 3 hours.

Final

So this is the final submission, as you can see in the cloth I had hole issues from dynamesh. I plan to come back to this soon and fix up the holes, fix the folds, and give it a proper render.

VEF Project 3

Our final project for VEF, the goal was to studying an effect not taught in class and try to create our own. I was aiming for a scene similar to the blood scene from The Shining, but as you can see, the liquids don't really act like liquids and instead seem like spiders. While not the effect I was going for, I thought it was comedic with the right music in the background.
The spencer mansion model was found for free online.

VEF Project 2

For this project the goal was to create a smoke or fire effect. I chose to do a simple explosion. This was one of the first projects I have done in Houdini, but I definitely could do better now.

VEF Project 1: Fluid Effects

The goal of this project was to produce a fire or smoke effect using maya fluids. The model is not mine, I found it for free online. I animated it and added fluid effects to the eyes, mane, tail, and hooves. These are the play blast from Maya 2015 and a final rendered video.

Project 2 Breakdown

Final breakdown video for project 2

CAN 2 Project 2 Final Pass

Final pass for project 2. Finalized the lip sync and fixed some anticipation issues

STE Research Project

Research project done for STE. Goal was to get a ball through a hoop using only the dynamics in Houdini. The ball and the hoop I modeled in Maya, the rest is done in Houdini. This project was pretty simple, I made the hoop a static object and the ball an RBD object. Then added in the ground plane and messed with the z and y directions of the velocity in gravity.

STE Wall Fracture

Wall fracture done for STE. The fracture itself was done in Houdini but the VW Bus was done in Soft Image. I actually had a lot of fun with the fracture, its a really cool effect.

Project 2: 3rd Pass

3rd Pass for project 2. Added more anticipation, fixed some timing, and had some lip sync in.

CAN 2 Project 2: 2nd Pass

Second pass for project 2. Decided to take out the beginning and end pose as they were too much for the scene.

CAN 2 Project 1 Breakdown Video

CAN 2 Project 1: Version 1

Here is the first final video. He still needs paper to throw, and I will add sound in the next few days to make it a little more entertaining.

Pre Pro CAN 2 Project 1

My pre pro drawings for CAN 2 this month. This is our first project, and the goal was to create and effective pantomime scene that showed emotional change without words. My character walks to a mailbox to see if he gets any letters to find that he has received some very bad news.

CAN 1 Project 3: Basic Walk

Our final for CAN 1. We had to make a character take a certain amount of steps, turn around, and press  a button. Theres a few more things I have to fix with his feet and knees, but I'm really happy with my result, I think it shows my improvement from the beginning of the month.

CAN1 Project 2: Strong Poses

This one is self explanatory. We had to do seven poses in silhouette to practice the strong pose principle of the twelve principles of animation. I forgot to take out the pole in the scene, but I am happy with the result.

CAN1 Project 1: Eggy Walk

Our first project for CAN 1. This walk didn't turn out so well, there were a lot of issues. I think most of my problems were in the graph editor, and I didn't do the foot roll. However, I believe that I have improved a lot from this over the past month.

VEF Project 3: Soft Bodies (WIP)

This project I am still working on, but I am planning to make the wings soft bodies so they will react with the motion of the walk. I am think about also adding jiggle to the neck as well, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I found this model for free on creative crash, and the video here is my finished walk cycle for this project. In the final video I will have it loop for a few more seconds so that the video will not be as short.

VEF Project 2: Particle Effects

In this project I found various models for free online and animated the models myself. I had a couple issues with the rendering, for example, there should be two fluid flames coming from the exhaust on the bike but it only rendered one. Due to time constraints, I had to work with what I had and just comp it together. The particles I used were multi streak, streak, and sprite.

VEF Project 1: Rigid Bodies

For the rigid body project, I used the default scene that was provided to us. Overall, I am happy with how it turned out in the end. There are few things I would like to fix, such as the lighting and some of the textures, but I am still fairly happy with the result. I used nail constraints, hinge constraints, and a couple gravity fields to control the rigid bodies.
